The Energy Prediction module in LetsGrow empowers greenhouse operators to forecast hourly energy demand for the coming days. Forecasts are available for 1, 2, 3, and 7 days ahead, enabling smarter decisions around energy purchasing, storage, and generation. 

Why Do Energy Predictions Matter? 

With accurate energy forecasting, you can: 

    • Plan energy purchases ahead of time. 

    • Optimize energy storage, such as storing hot water in insulated tanks. 

    • Utilize self-generated energy via CHP (Combined Heat and Power) systems. 

    • Reduce costs and enhance sustainability by aligning energy use with actual demand. 


Growers often have several energy sourcing options. Knowing your expected energy demand helps you make informed choices: 

    1. Purchase energy from your energy provider. 

    1. Use stored hot water from previous days (e.g., if today’s energy price is lower than tomorrow’s, heating and storing water today can be cost-effective). 

    1. Generate energy using CHP systems especially when generation costs (including fuel) are lower than external purchase prices. 

Who Uses Energy Predictions? 

Both smaller and larger companies can use the Energy Prediction of LetsGrow. This tool is typically used directly by the grower, energy specialists or energy managers. 

How It Works 

Custom Predictions Based on Your Data 

You’ll receive a custom model trained on historical data from your greenhouse. By continuously learning from your data, the model provides forecasts that are precisely tailored to your situation.

Contact our Customer Service to activate the Energy Forecasting module. We’ll link the necessary data and set everything up for you.

Monitoring & Interpretation 

Energy Predictions are shown in the LetsGrow module, alongside actual energy demand: 

    • The green line shows your predicted energy demand 

    • The red line shows your actual energy demand 


The closer the lines, the better the performance. 

 


We monitor the model daily to ensure it runs smoothly and review its accuracy monthly.

    • High-quality data is essential for accurate predictions. 

    • Ensure consistent and complete data logging in LetsGrow. 

    • Regularly review prediction accuracy and provide feedback for model improvement.
