Graph types

When creating a chart in MyLetsGrow,  you have a choice of different types of charts, as shown in the image below. In this article, the 5 different types will also be explained into more detail.

Line chart
In a line chart, data points are connected by a line. This is the standard way of data visualisation for 5-minute data used by LetsGrow.com.

Bar chart
In a bar chart, each data point is visualized in vertical columns. This can be useful, for example, to compare plant measurements of different plants. When using this chart type, we recommend not adding too many items to the chart, as it can quickly become cluttered. The interval option for this chart type will in many cases be 24-hour data, but you can also use this option to visualize your 5-minute data.

Scatter plot
In a scatter plot, each data point is marked as a point in the chart. It is recommended that you only use this chart type for 24-hour values in order to limit the number of points in the chart. A well-known use case for this chart type is the RTR scatter plot which visualises the ratio between temperature and radiation.

Stacked chart
In a stacked chart, you can stack different items on top of each other to visualize a total. A good example of this visualization option is a calculated radiation sum with lighting. In this example, you can stack the calculated outside radiation and the calculated radiation from the grow lights to visualize the total.

Combination chart
In a combination chart, you have the option to apply all of the above-mentioned visualization options in one chart. This way you can customize the chart to your needs.
